The Dark Knight

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while y'all, but The Dark Knight has left me feeble.

Words cannot do it justice, and I cannot contain my affection for this film. I can go on and on about it to infinite lengths and not repeat myself. I loved it.

MAKE SURE YOU SEE IT IN IMAX!!!!!!

James Bond "Quantum of Solace" trailer!!!!

If you know me, then you know I'm all about Batman and James Bond. In a couple of weeks I get to indulge myself in what has the potential to be the best comic book movie ever, let alone one of the best films of the year with The Dark Knight. And coming on November 7th, I get a new James Bond flick as well!!!!!!

I'm gassed, geeking out, and ready to go!!!

The new "Dark Knight" onesheet

Yeah. Okay. Whatever.

YES - I know I have a bachelor's degree in Cinema, with a focus in writing and directing and I'm supposed to be snobbish as a mofo. Keep my nose either up in the sky or all the way up my own arse when it comes to film.

YES- I do enjoy(LOVE!) foreign and independent cinema, (it's one of the prerequisites of being a cinema major =P), by the likes of Buñuel, Antonioni, and Charles Yi (plug!)

but... -------> THE SUMMER MOVIE SEASON IS MY SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYIT!

Hence my giddy excitement for this new onesheet:

If it's not James Bond, it's Bats. Sue me.

And for my next topical post, Christian Louboutin.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

In cleaning up my place today, I came across my old copy of this book.

This and Watchmen are hailed as two of the greatest comic book stories ever told. With these stories came the grim n' gritty era of storytelling in comic books in the 80's. So enough blabbering, here's the synopsis from the DC Comics.

It is ten years after an aging Batman has retired and Gotham City has sunk deeper into decadence and lawlessness. Now as his city needs him most, the Dark Knight returns in a blaze of glory. Joined by Carrie Kelly, a teenage female Robin, Batman takes to the streets to end the threat of the mutant gangs that have overrun the city. And after facing off against his two greatest enemies, the Joker and Two-Face for the final time, Batman finds himself in mortal combat with his former ally, Superman, in a battle that only one of them will survive. This collection is hailed as a comics masterpiece and was responsible for the launch of the Batman movies.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

Written by Frank Miller; Art and Cover by Miller and Klaus Janson. Published in 1986.

***And where else are you gonna find a story that has Superman as a pawn for the government at Reagan's beck and call?***
